The problem with sin

SIN is the ugly enemy that begets much turmoil in the world.

Sin upon sin, compounding - from the first rebellion toward God in the garden unto this present day has caused the unraveling of every authority - because there is no authority that can survive without submission to God.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

How I long to be with Jesus, my family, and all my friends - out of this world that has reached it’s full of SIN.

The entire problem in this world is SIN.

SIN begets the awful things we see in the world.

From the garden to present day accumulation, rebellion toward God has begotten a world filled with sin with its repercussions.

 Whatsoever is sown is also reaped.

The world is a filled up with sin and needs a radical drain...

When a natural disaster occurs (in my thinking) it’s like God letting off a little steam in order that He not annihilate the entire world - because the appointed time for His wrath is not yet come. If He didn't let off a little steam His entire wrath would come forth.

I just believe that natural disasters are one of the ways God deals with sin until He deals with it more thoroughly. That is about the simplest way I can explain the way I see it.

Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

EVIL - Hebrew: "ra" translated "sorrow," "wretchedness," "adversity," "afflictions," "calamities,"  “distress,” but never translated sin.

This is important to remember:

God created evil only in the sense that He made sorrow, adversity, calamities, distress, etc., to be the sure fruits of sin.

Galatians 6: 7-9

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Isaiah 45:7

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

God creates evil - in contrast to peace i.e. in, war, disaster, and calamity.

Forgive the following graphic illustration, but looking at the world today is like looking at one huge abscessed boil that needs to be popped in order to be healed.

In my illustration - Sin is the cause of the collection of pus that has reached its head.

The only way to end sins continuum is surgical drainage - better known as "The wrath of God."

God's wrath is about to be unleashed upon the abscess of SIN.

As alluded to in my earlier post under the Sunni / Shia problem:

The crux of the matter is rebellion to the Word of God. Eve rebelled against God’s sure Word and talked her husband Adam into sinning against God. Also, Sarah talked her husband Abraham into sleeping with Hagar her Egyptian handmaiden, thus going against the Word of the Lord. No wonder Paul admonished women to keep silent in the churches and to learn from their own husbands at home.

The Lord created man first for a reason.

The Lord’s order of creation is recorded in the Book of Ephesians.

The perfect order is:

The first authority is God, then man as he is submitted to God, then woman as she is submitted to her own husband - the children reap the fruits of righteousness, as does the entire family.

When the man is submitted to God he will love his wife as Christ loves the church. When the husband behaves like Jesus, the wife will gladly submit to and honor her husband as unto the Lord. The man, under God is the spiritual leader in the home. If the man is not in submission to the Lord he is in rebellion. Far too many homes are without a man, and especially a God fearing man. Where there is a man in the home, in many, the woman wears the pants –she is in rebellion.

Looking clearly into the godly order of a family we can see the safeguards that the Lord has put in place. We also realize the awful ramifications when God’s order is altered.

Let’s read this perfect advice –placing, if you want the blessings of the Lord, in front of each command:

Ephesians 5:

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and

he is the saviour of the body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

I’d like to continue with an observation of the consequences from the Genesis account.

1  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Sin in the world is the cause of all trouble and it is so apparent when we look into almost any passage of Scripture. What began in the garden has trickled down through 6000 years of sinful behavior. What began in the garden has corroded away at God’s authority down through 6000 years of man’s rebellion and narcissistic personality (me, me, me, self, self, self); you know the person whose self-centered needs, wants, and desires always come first.

You remember the mythological tale: Narcissus fell in love, not with himself, but with the reflection of himself. In other words he fell in love with his view of himself. Not what others saw, but what he deemed himself to be.

That was then, this is now.

The narcissist is the person who says, Marry me, I want to be with you forever, then you marry him and he says, Oh, by the way, I've changed my mind. And he says this, not in those words but by him always putting his needs way ahead of yours - in fact, he probably doesn't even notice that you have needs.

You might say to your husband, “I have a terrible headache.” Does he say: “I’m sorry sweetheart; can I get you something for it?” “Would you like me to rub your neck?” “Why don’t I take the kids for an outing so you can lie down and rest for awhile?” No, he doesn’t say any of that, what he does say is this: “I’m thirsty, will you get me a soda, and a pillow so I can be more comfortable while I watch my TV show?”

Hopefully, you are submitted to God’s authority, and this narcissistic behavior is not any part of your household. And yet, the reality is that it runs rampant in many homes. And the reason that it does is because sin abounds. Sin upon sin down through the ages unchecked has come to its full self centered Entity.

The Lord left us the very best example in that He laid down His own life for us. He gave His life, in order that we might live. As His creation we are to emulate His example.

John, 15:13

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Laying down our needs, wants, and desires, for the other person. This is the Lord’s golden rule of which few men follow.

I’m not picking on the men, but it is the man who is to be the example to the rest of his family. It is God’s order that the husband is first to be submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

It’s a sad, sad world we live in as we look around at the poverty, and inequities that increase with each new generation. Man blames God for this break down. Man wants more, and man blames God when what man wants harms him. When we add up the 6000 years of sin it is not so difficult to realize that God has indeed been longsuffering toward His creation. There have been many questions of why God allowed New Orleans to be hit so hard; but when we lay beside this disaster the sin factor one must realize that God has shown kindness, mercy, and grace in that He didn’t destroy the entire world a long time ago. And yet, as already acknowledged the appointed time has not yet arrived. However, we can know for sure that according to Scripture, God’s Spirit will not always strive with man. One of these days, I believe very soon, the Lord will unleash His mighty wrath on the world of unbelievers who have chosen self will over God’s will. BUT, NOT BEFORE HE REMOVES HIS BELOVED CHIRCH.  In the 6000 year interim the Lord has increasingly released tsunamis, hurricanes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters to make every effort to draw all men unto Him. When you really think about it – I mean really think about it the Lord is showing His mercy when He releases any disaster. In each disaster there is a call to repentance.

We don’t need to defend why the Lord does anything that He does; after all He is God and He knows right from wrong, peace from evil. The lesson we can learn from all that we question with WHY? Is that God has created man for fellowship and with each year that passes He attempts through many means to get the attention of His creation in order that each will spend eternity with Him.

This next Scripture passage has caused many to have a problem with the Lord.

Romans 9:

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling stone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Jesus Christ is the stumbling stone, and the rock of offence. He who prefers to live a sin filled life finds Jesus Christ unpleasant, insulting, and even rude to rain on his parade of self satisfaction.

The problem with sin is that it is the very thing that will bring man to the very end of hope. Man without Jesus will not experience eternal life; at his end man will find that his sin filled life will be met with eternal misery in the lake of fire.

The answer to sin is that you would believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and be eternally saved. The Lord desires that none should perish but that all would come to repentance through Jesus Christ the Lord.

Won’t you – this very hour turn your heart toward the Lord Jesus? Isn’t it time to acknowledge that you have lived a life of sin, and still - you have not found satisfaction? Can’t you see that if what you have done has brought you any satisfaction it soon became a fleeting conquest?   The Bible tells us that when we acknowledge that we have sinned against the Lord; when we humble ourselves and receive Him as our only hope of deliverance from sin, we will never thirst or hunger again. We will be 100% satisfied.

The Lord made a void in each of our hearts that only He could fill and satisfy. He made our need for Him so great - that without Him as our Savior and Lord we could never be fully satisfied and happy. Without Jesus as or Lord and Savior we desire to have more and more “things” to keep us happy, and yet no man without Jesus can truly be happy.

Is this your heart?

Void of Jesus, and full of sin?

Or, is this your heart?

Jesus resides there, and your life is full of joy?

The choice is up to each one of us individually. Your mother’s religion will not save you. Your grandmother’s religion will not save you. You must personally acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of Jesus. You must realize that Jesus Christ died in your place for your sins. You must believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh in order that He could bear your iniquity in His own body on a tree. When you believe and adhere to Jesus Christ as your only hope of salvation, the Lord will forgive your sins and receive you as a member in the family of God. The Holy Spirit will seal you unto salvation, and you will be eternally saved. You will never experience the wrath of God because from now on when the Lord looks at you He will not see you as a sinner but He will see you in the righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ.

This is the GOOD NEWS!

Won’t you please come to Jesus today while there is still time to do so?
